Monarch’s Nova-Pro strobes produce ultra-uniform light patterns to ensure accurate color recognition and print quality.

Monarch Instrument has introduced two handheld strobes for the printing and converting industry. Based on advancing LED technology, they provide pure white light (6200°K) and specialized Ultra-Violet (365/385nm) wavelengths. Xenon-based strobes have been used for years in print production, but their ionized molecules generate ozone and the xenon arc tubes produced uneven light patterns. Monarch’s ultra-high intensity LED technology provides both white and UV illumination without the harmful effects of 03. Monarch’s Nova-Pro strobes produce ultra-uniform light patterns to ensure accurate color recognition and better print quality results. Sharpest Freeze-Frame image rendering capabilities are also available. As press speeds increase from 8,000 to 20,000 and now 40,000 impression/hour using curing units, Monarch’s strobes are keeping up with 8-20 times faster flash rates than conventional strobes (1 million/min) and adjustable flash durations as low as 0.001 mSec. The Nova-Pro 300 and 500 models have an integrated laser tachometer so processing equipment speeds are synchronized instantaneously with a squeeze of the trigger, or they can be coordinated with Vision Systems and down-stream production units by using the on-board input/output ports. The brilliance behind their patent pending technology provides the brightest flash in the shortest time with a homogenous wash of light for sharper imagery. With better integration of CTP technologies, variable printing, specialty conversions, and laminated packaging – offset, flexo, digital, and inkjet are all favoring web systems. On-press, full-speed, quality checks using strobes have become critical to press operators and production managers. Secure printing marks used to be only for monetary and government documentation. Because of the $650 billion/year counterfeiting trade, UV invisible inks are used for brand identification, supply chain traceability, ballots, event tickets, pharmaceutical labels, and special effects in printing. Invisible inks are available for every print medium; varnishes, gels, powders, dyes, dispersions, and plastisols. To see UV invisible ink on press, Monarch has two UV strobes that span the UVA printers ink range, the Nova-Pro 365 and Nova-Pro 385. By eliminating UV filtration used by other strobe manufacturers and incorporating true UV-LED technologies, the Nova-Pro Series provides bright light and sharp imagery for QC personnel responsible for ink densities, color, and brilliance in fluorescing capabilities. More than an on-press quality control, Monarch strobes have been used in the Predictive Maintenance industry for more than 20 years. Anything that rotates, reciprocates, vibrates, or produces a repetitive pattern can be captured in-time and place by the Nova-Pro strobe. A signal from a vibration analyzer can be plugged into the Nova-Pro input to automatically synchronize the flash rate. Other popular input sources include Vision Systems, and a full range of optical, magnetic and coil sensors. “The Nova-Pro 500 kit has combined the favorite Nova-Strobe features our customers have relied upon for years into a comfortable, ergonomic package designed for demanding industrial environments where they are used,” says Tim French, director of sales. “The brightly lit colored display control panel aligns the user’s line of sight with the target for easy access and readability. Adjusting settings and mode changes are accomplished with simple, intuitive, button pushes.” The Nova-Pro 500 Kit includes strobe, integral laser module with remote dock, two standard Li-ion battery packs, battery charging station with interchangeable wall plugs, NIST certificate, operation manual, and deluxe water tight latching carry case. AC Models include 115/230 Vac wall adapter power supply with international adapter plugs instead of battery pack and charging station.
